Covert Operations are missions that appear in the world campaign in orange and a white C instead of red with white numbers. The threat level description is always a color associated with yellow and orange, as well as colored within. They are unlocked as the campaign progresses. A Covert operation will grant a special unlock upon completion and will be randomly dotted on a level as the main campaign progresses afterwards.

Trivia

  • During a Covert Operation, the player is given only one life and no Prisoners of Wars to rescue, unless one player dies on multiplayer, then one will spawn.
    • This explains why they never appear in IronBro Mode, as this is conflicting with the IronBro's life mechanics that carries all lives to next level.
  • Players start out with NO special on their Bros. In compensation to this, Ammo Crates are dotted around the level for all Covert Operations.
